Mr.Lam Si-Kwan was born in GuangDong, Where he received formal music training from early age. Mr Lam is an expert performer on the Di-Zi,and various Chinese Wind Instruments, especially on his super technique "circle-breathing". And has further extended his musical experience to conducting through studies with such conducting masters as with Peng Xiu-Wen, Ha Fai-Yuan, Chen Zuo-Huang, Yan Liang-Kun and Tong Moo-Hoi.
He moved to Hong Kong in 1970 and has since been engaged in performing, teaching and recording, In 1975-1978, he has been the principal Di-Zi player of the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra. .From1978-1984, he taught at the Hong Kong Conservatory of Music (the present Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts) .
Since 1976 to present, he lectures at The Department of Music of The Chinese University of HongKong as Part-time lecturer. Since 1978, he is appointed by Music Office of Hong Kong Government.
Mr. Lam has held solo concerts in various countries. In 1973, he gave over 100 recitals in Japan. Follow by then, he has visited the States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, Taiwan and Singapore to give performances and received appreciation.
Meanwhile, he has released many in Mainland China, Hong Kong and abroad.
